Onebeon (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website us.onebeon.com, which publishes news, guides and information about jobs, employers and careers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have under U.S. state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, together “CCPA”) and, for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and equivalent laws.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Automatically, when you visit: IP address (from which we derive approximate location, such as city or state), browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time spent, and cookie or other online identifiers.
- From you, when you choose to provide it: for example your name, email address and message when you use our contact form, or your email address if you sign up for job alerts or a newsletter.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, health information or government IDs). Please do not send us such information.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain and secure the website;
- To analyze traffic, measure performance and improve our content (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity);
- To show advertising, including interest-based advertising where permitted (Google Ad Manager and Google AdSense);
- To respond to your messages and send emails you requested;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your information to recruit you for employers and we do not share it with employers.
3. Cookies, Advertising and Analytics
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the list of cookies and how to manage them.
- Advertising. We display ads through Google Ad Manager and Google AdSense. Google and other advertising partners may use cookies and identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com or opt out of many third-party advertising networks at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with pages (for example clicks and scrolling) so we can improve usability; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
4. How We Disclose Information
We disclose information to service providers that process it on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, advertising technology, form and email providers), to advertising partners as described above, to government authorities when required by law, and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. However, the use of cookies by advertising partners may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under some state laws; see Section 6 for your choices.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to meet legal obligations and to resolve disputes. Cookie lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy.
6. Your Rights: U.S. State Residents (Including California)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know and access the personal information we collected about you; delete it; correct inaccurate information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising; limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it); receive a portable copy; and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
Categories collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (IP address, cookie IDs and other online identifiers); internet or other network activity (pages viewed and interactions); approximate geolocation derived from IP address; inferences drawn by advertising partners about interests; and contact information you submit voluntarily. These are disclosed to service providers and to analytics and advertising partners for the purposes in Sections 2 to 4.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. You can opt out at any time through the privacy message shown on our site, or by emailing contact@us.onebeon.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share”. Where technically supported by our consent tool, we also treat a valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out request.
How to submit a request. Email contact@us.onebeon.com with the subject “Privacy Request”. We will verify your request by matching the information you provide with information we hold, and respond within 45 days (we may extend once by another 45 days when reasonably necessary). An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
7. Your Rights: EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland (GDPR)
The controller of your personal information is Onebeon (contact details in Section 12). Our legal bases are: your consent (advertising and analytics cookies, newsletters); our legitimate interests (operating, securing and improving the website and responding to your messages); and compliance with legal obligations. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing), and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our providers, including Google and Microsoft, may process data in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.
8. Children
This website is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. External Links
Our website contains links to third-party websites, including employers’ career pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Please review their policies before sharing personal information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
